THE OPPORTUNITY

Based at our Northern Operations in the Murchison, we are seeking an experienced Senior Open Pit Engineer to manage the day‑to‑day operations across our growing pipeline of open pit projects. This role is well suited to a motivated and career‑driven professional looking to step up and make a meaningful impact.

  • Lead and manage all Open Pit operations.
  • Oversee production, mine planning and the delivery of project works.
  • Manage Open Pit activities to ensure operational, business and budgetary targets are achieved.
  • Conduct regular workplace inspections to identify hazards and ensure effective risk management.
  • Provide strong contractor leadership and oversight across all operational activities.

ABOUT YOU

  • Current Western Australian “C” Class Driver’s Licence.
  • Tertiary qualification in Mine Engineering or a related discipline.
  • WA Quarry Manager Certificate
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in an operational leadership role, ideally including contractor oversight within open pit mining.
  • Demonstrated leadership capability with strong interpersonal and team‑building skills.
  • Solid knowledge of mining legislation, including relevant Acts and Regulations.
  • Strong understanding of mine planning, including drill and blast design and planning cycles (daily to annual).
  • Proficient with mine design and scheduling software (Deswik and Surpac).
  • Innovative mindset with the ability to think strategically and solve problems effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across teams.
  • Strong organisational and time‑management skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • A proactive, team‑oriented attitude and a commitment to maintaining a safe working environment.
